D-DAY" (2023) marks the concluding chapter of a trilogy of Agust D, succeeding the previous mixtapes, “Agust D” (2016) and “D-2” (2020). The album delves into the personal journey of Agust D, offering an intimate portrayal of his life as an artist.
The title track "Haegeum" is solely produced, composed, written and performed by Agust D. The title carries 2 meanings: 1) a traditional Korean instrument and 2) lifting of a ban/prohibition. Again, Agust D mixed traditional Korean music with hip-hop to create his unique music style.
The Korean rap song hit No. 58 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the album debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200 with 140,000 album-equivalent units, including 122,000 pure album sales (90% of which were CD sales) in U.S.
According to the Hanteo Chart, "D-DAY" sold 1,072,311 copies worldwide on its first day. Agust D is the First and Only rapper in the world to surpass 1,000,000 first day sales.
The album charted high around the globe (View Details) and received very positive reviews from critics upon release. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from professional publications, the album received an average score of 89 based on four reviews, indicating "universal acclaim".

“Haegeum”, the title track, can mean a traditional Korean instrument with two strings and it also can be literally translated as “liberation”. The repeated appearance of the word “Haegeum” in the track makes listeners curious and when you look the word up, you will be surprised by the clever wordplay by the rapper.

“AMYGDALA” is one of the favorites of Agust D himself. Amygdala is a part of the neural system responsible for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, and activation of appropriate fear-related behaviors in response. The song describes his inner war between trying to erase his unpleasant, painful memories and bringing them back to cope and use his amygdala to protect himself.
