D-2 Album by Agust D

On May 22, 2020, "D-2" was released in a surprise.

Agust D mixed traditional Korean music and other music genres like hip-hop in the title track "Daechwita". The MV of "Daechwita" gained more than 20 million views in less than 24 hours. People were amazed by its captivating cinematography and editing.

"D-2" was a huge success.  It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200, number 7 on the Official UK Chart, and number 2 on the ARIA chart, setting three new records as the highest-ranking mixtape in the US, UK, and Australia by a K-soloist. "Daechwita" debuted at number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making Agust D the first Korean soloist to simultaneously chart on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200. The single also debuted at number one on the Billboard Rap Digital Song Sales Chart, becoming the highest-charting and first song by a Korean artist to do so.

The album achieved the above without any promotion. 

The popularity of "Daechwita" lasts. It has now surpassed 15M Likes on YouTube. (as at November 2024). This becomes the FIRST & ONLY MV by a Korean Male Soloist to hit 15M Likes this decade, and also making Agust D the 2nd Korean Male Soloist in HISTORY to do so after PSY.
